 If you are you travelling from Great Britain to an EU country or Northern Ireland an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) is required unless you have an European pet passport, issued in a European country, with a valid rabies vaccination.  

If you are travelling outside EU, an Export Health Certificate (EHC) is needed.

MyHouseVet simply issues Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) and Export Health Certificates (EHCs), which are essential documents for pet owners traveling with their pets all over the world!  The UK pet passport is not valid any more. 

Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) were first introduced in 2021 after Brexit. It is simply a document that is required for a pet dog, cat or ferret to travel from the UK to the EU. The AHC needs to be issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV) no more than 10 days before your travel date. ​

There are some criteria that must be met:

• Your pet must have been microchipped
• Your pet must also have been vaccinated for rabies at least 21 days before the AHC is issued or usually 30 days before the EHC (depends on the country)
• Your pet might need a parasite treatment or to be isolated (depends on the country)
